Courtesy of Patrick Bloedorn. View from on top of the control room. On the right side of the photo you see the clinker conveyor running east/west to the edge of the photo. The clinker conveyors deliver to the finish grind. The smaller diameter pipe running east/west north of the clinker conveyor is the rock conveyor. The vertical structures, from left to right, are the #2 and #3 kiln smoke stack, the #4 kiln smoke stack, and the lime silos (shorter and larger in diameter). In the lower left corner of the photo, you see the kilns running NE into the center of the shot. From left to right they are the #2, #3 and #1 kilns. The #1 kiln is obscured partially by the coal conveyor and was built in 1917. On the left side of the photo the road curving around the trees leads to State Street. |
