Republic Services (our garbage and recycling hauler) will not be collecting recycling or garbage on Christmas Day or New Years Day. Service will be on a one day delay following both of those holidays. People who normally have their garbage collected on Wednesday will have it collected on Thursday, Thursday collections will take place on Friday, etc.
To make sure you receive service alerts, please take a moment to confirm your contact information with Republic Services - check your account online or call their local customer service line at 503-636-3011.
You can also sign up to receive alerts and collection reminders from Clackamas County or check inclement weather updates from Republic Services.

- Period Products - drop off period or menstruation products by December 31
- Food Donations - drop off non-perishable food and essential hygiene items by December 31
- Children's Clothes - drop off children's clothes by December 31

The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, January 25, 2025 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Adult Community Center. In preparation for its annual goal setting retreat, the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, to share your input online.
Comments will be shared with the City Council before their retreat.

Winter Months Hold Highest Risk for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
As temperatures drop and consumers begin cranking up their heating systems, November through February represent the leading months for carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in the U.S., with a peak in December.
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, toxic gas that is produced when anything is burned. Gas and oil furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces, and wood burning and gas stoves are sources in the home. The only way to know if you are being exposed to carbon monoxide is by using a detector.

Lake Oswego uses the ClackCo PublicAlerts emergency notification software system to distribute important emergency messages. The City urges everyone to sign up to receive PublicAlerts notifications.
Each county has its own unique PublicAlerts system. You will only receive this type of alert if the address you provided when signing up is in an affected area. Depending on where you live, work, attend school, etc. You might need to register in several counties.
