The City of Lake Oswego aspires to be an organization where every person feels safe, welcomed, supported, and included.
Over the past few years, the City has taken a number of actions to break down barriers that, historically, have made it harder for some people in our community to succeed.
We invite everyone in our community to stay engaged and work together to make Lake Oswego a welcoming and inclusive community for all.
The new City Hall is located at the corner of A Avenue and 3rd Street in downtown Lake Oswego. Built in 2021, the 73,000 square feet new City Hall provides a seismically safe, energy efficient and better functioning building for the community and City staff. It includes new facilities for Police and 911 dispatch services, city offices, a larger emergency operations center, and retail spaces. The majority of the project was funded by urban renewal. The new building is 3 stories over one level for secured police parking.
Starting in 1992 the City of Lake Oswego began building pathways that formed walking loops around the City. There are currently five main loops totaling 23.7 miles.
The river terrace along the west bank of Willamette River downstream from the mouth of Oswego Creek was for thousands of years the home of Native Americans.
