About the Program

The City aims to invest in more projects that provide everyone with safer and improved pedestrian access for all.  The City is working on several new pathways connecting neighborhoods to schools, business districts, parks, and recreation areas.

Pathways Under Construction

Major construction for Tree Top and Meadowlark was completed in fall 2025, with miscellaneous items expected to be complete in spring 2026. Construction for Carman is underway from early 2026 through summer. Construction for McEwan is expected to take place in late spring through summer 2026.

Pathways Under Design

Pedestrian improvements are coming soon to portions Carman Drive and Pilkington Road. Shaped by feedback from the community, available roadway space, and technical analysis, designs are now complete.

Pathways Recently Completed

In summer/fall of 2025, 2,220 linear feet of new sidewalk was constructed on Tree Top Lane and Meadowlark Lane. In summer/fall of 2024, 1,650 linear feet of new sidewalk was constructed on Lanewood Street and Douglas Circle. In summer and fall 2023, three new sidewalks were constructed on portions of Douglas Way, Hallinan Street, and Boca Ratan Drive.

Get Involved

The City values community involvement and is committed to an inclusive and transparent planning process. Seeking community feedback and input to help shape the design of each pathway is a high priority. Opportunities for input will be shared here.
