The City of Lake Oswego is exploring possible incentives and education programs to encourage landscapers and residents to switch from gas-powered landscaping equipment to electric equipment. We are currently conducting a survey of landscaping companies, residents and property owners about their use of landscaping equipment.

Join us on April 24 for the Lake Oswego Sustainability Resource Fair - and celebrate Earth Day!
Come learn about the work organizations across our community are doing to advance sustainability and find opportunities to volunteer. Kids can participate in arts and crafts and everyone can tour the new Lakeridge Middle School and its sustainable design features. There will also be a tree seedling giveaway!

Lake Oswego has banned plastic carryout bags!
In December 2018, Lake Oswego City Council passed a ban that applies to all retailers, restaurants, and City sponsored events.
The ban goes into effect for retailers larger than 10,000 square feet on July 1, 2019, and all other retailers on January 1, 2020.
