2026 Oswego Lake Draw-Down
Lake Oswego Corporation (Lake Corp) will begin the lake draw-down on October 1, 2026. If you are planning work on lake structures while water levels are lowered, now is the time to prepare building plans and permit applications.
To avoid delays, submit permit applications to both the City and Lake Corp as early as possible.
Common draw-down projects include:
- Dock repairs
- Boathouses
- Utility repairs
Important deadline:
Submit building permit applications no later than August 15, 2026. Applications received after this date may not be approved in time to complete work during the draw-down period.
Review timeline:
- The first review by City staff takes around 4 weeks
- If plans need corrections to meet Code standards, or if the application is not complete, it may take more time to get an approved permit
- Lake Corp plans to refill with rainwater beginning on January 1, 2027, so projects should be completed by this date
