Celebrate Black History Month this February

February 2026 is the 100th anniversary of the United States celebrating Black History Month. This year, we honor a century of lifting up the history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans.

Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May

This May, the City of Lake Oswego is proud to celebrate the history, achievements and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander people. The AANHPI umbrella term includes cultures from the entire Asian continent including East, Southeast and South Asia and the Pacific Islands of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.

Celebrate Arab American Heritage Month in April

In 2021, Arab American Heritage Month became federally recognized and in July of the same year, Oregon became the second state to permanently recognize Arab American Heritage Month. The City of Lake Oswego honors the contributions and celebrates our local community of Arab Americans.
