Public Alerts - Emergency Notification

Lake Oswego uses the ClackCo PublicAlerts emergency notification software system to distribute important emergency messages.

The City urges everyone to sign up to get PublicAlerts notifications. By providing contact information, you can opt-in to receive critical emergency messaging via email, phone call, and text. Types of message include:

  • Extreme weather (flooding, landslide, etc.) and other local emergencies requiring evacuation, shelter in place, or other immediate life-safety action
  • Critical utility outages (boil water notice, power shutoff to reduce wildfire risk, etc.)
  • Request for help locating a lost and/or endangered person
  • Police activity

Each county has its own unique PublicAlerts system.

You will only receive this type of alert if the address you provided when signing up is in an affected area. It’s a good idea to enter all of the addresses where you live, work, attend school, etc. You might need to register in several counties.
