Lake Oswego Man Pleads Guilty After Drugging Girls at a Sleepover
LAKE OSWEGO – On June 10, 2024 Michael Jay Meyden appeared in Clackamas County Circuit Court where he pled guilty to 3 counts of Causing Another Person to Ingest a Controlled Substance (ORS 475.908). The felony charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Lake Oswego Police Department.
Lake Oswego Man Indicted After Drugging Girls at a Sleepover
On August 26, 2023 Lake Oswego Police were notified that three 12-year-old girls were being treated at Randall Children’s Hospital after reportedly ingesting a prescription drug while at a sleepover at a friend’s home in Lake Oswego. Detectives investigated the incident and determined that 57-year-old Michael Jay Meyden of Lake Oswego surreptitiously placed prescription sedatives into smoothies he made for the children at a sleepover his daughter was hosting.
The children and families provided victim impact statements during sentencing and Michael Meyden was sentenced to 2 years in prison with 3 years of parole upon release.
