Stafford Road Traffic Advisory

Clackamas County is working on a road improvement project that involves adding a roundabout at Childs Road, realigning Johnson Road to eliminate intersection skew and reduce steep slopes, adding a southbound left-turn lane at Johnson Road, widening Stafford Road between Pattulo Way and Rosemont Road to add bike lanes, and replacing the Pecan Creek culvert at Childs Road with a larger, fish-passable culvert. The project began in 2025, prompting the temporary closure of Stafford Road and necessitating detour routes for commuters.

Update on road openings:

Sept. 1 – Sept. 30, 2026: Stafford Road and Johnson Road closed to thru traffic from north of Pattulo Way to south of Childs Road. Stafford is open from Rosemont to Childs.

Oct. 1 – Dec. 31, 2026: All roads open to traffic. Construction under flagging.
