2026 Oswego Lake Draw-Down

Lake Oswego Corporation (Lake Corp) will begin the next lake draw-down on October 15, 2026.

PP 24-0006: Tree Regulation Amendments

The City is updating its tree regulations to implement recommendations from the Urban and Community Forestry Plan. The project will make targeted updates to the Tree Code and Community Development Code (CDC) to align with best practices, support long-term urban forest sustainability, and meet state law requirements. Heritage Tree Program

NEW! Heritage Tree Preservation Grants: To support the long‐term preservation of designated Heritage Trees, the City is offering grants to assist property owners with costs of Heritage Tree care and maintenance services performed by qualified tree care specialists. Heritage Tree Preservation Grant funding may be used to diagnose, treat, manage and care for designated Heritage Trees. Download the application form for more information.

Emerald Ash Borer

Emerald ash borer is a beetle that was first discovered in the U.S. in 2002. While the emerald ash borer has not been detected within the City of Lake Oswego, it has been detected in Clackamas County as well as Washington, Yamhill and Marion Counties. These counties are currently under quarantine. Quarantine prohibits materials from all plant parts of ash, white fringetree, and olive trees from movement outside these counties.

Backyard Habitat Certification Program

The Backyard Habitat Certification Program provides technical assistance and incentives to Lake Oswego residents who wish to restore native wildlife habitat in their backyards. Participants are guided through three levels of habitat restoration: silver, gold, and platinum.
